How to use this open mic sign-up sheet
- Fill in the header. Click the event name and date fields at the top of the sheet and type them in. If you have house rules, like a song limit or a sign-up cutoff, add them on the line underneath. Empty fields print as blank lines you can write on.
- Choose your rows. Pick 20, 22 or 25 slots. Match it to the number of acts your night can really fit, so nobody signs up for a slot that never happens. The set time calculator can help you decide.
- Print it. Press the print button. The site header, buttons and these instructions are left off, so you get just the sheet on one page.
- Run the night. Performers write their name, act type (poetry, music, comedy, storytelling) and how long they need. The contact column is optional, for anyone who wants to hear about future nights. Tick the box when each person checks in or goes up.
Tips for a fair sign-up list
- Put the sheet out at a set time and say so on your flyer, so early arrivals know when to come.
- Ask for printed first names or stage names you can read out loud.
- Leave a note of the set length at the top, so performers plan for it.
- Keep the sheet after the show. The contact column is a start on a list of regulars.
